Man this is hard.
My first choice is easy: Music Man. Life won't be complete for me till I
hear/see this song performed live.
Second choice -- here's where it gets hard. Rainy Day Cross Road Blues?
Toulouse St? Tilted Park Crud Hunchery? (Now that one would be awesome... but
would they actually do it?) Ukiah/Captain and Me?
OK OK... my second choice -- Let's stick with the Stampede album... and go
with Texas Lullaby. This song would add an additional musical dimension to
the set (how often do the Doobies seriously show their country side), it's a
great vehicle for John on pedal steel, and the song's theme is such a
Doobies-ish message -- good friends getting together and digging music and
benefitting from its healing powers.
I'd also like to add... someone else here on the list mentioned the Doobies
doing an all-acoustic segment. What an excellent idea. Tom, Pat, and John on
acoustic guitars (sitting down), Skylark on bass, Keith and Michael on
percussion. Just a few songs. Maybe John on pedal steel and or lap steel here
or there.
