The Doobies rocked as usual. The concert was wonderful, even though I was among a
very negative crowd to begin with. I think they only came to hear Long Train Runnin'
and Black Water. The rest of the time they just partied and had negative comments
about everything. I was about to get ugly but I contained myself, went walking around
and throughly enjoyed the show. Then, my dreams came true when we met at the
backstage door and Miles had the most wonderful words and the goodies to get us there.
This was my first time meeting the band and it was everything you guys have ever said
about them. They were awesome. They signed autographs, posed for pics, and stood
around and talked for quite a while even though it was late. They were so casual and
down to earth. I was thrilled to get all of them to sign except Skylark. He slipped
out before I could catch him.
Of course my excitement wasn't half that of Roger's as he rocked with the band on
LTTM. He was a natural on stage with the guys. That must have been the ultimate high
for him and from his post (which was an excellent description Roger) it was...and what
a birthday present.
I enjoyed meeting with other fan club members and putting faces to the names also.

I want to say thanks to Miles for the leg work in arranging the meet and greet,
the club members present for helping to make it a special experience and most of all
the band. If it wasn't for the music and your kindness and patience with an adoring
fan backstage, if would have been a miserable night for me. Thanks so much for making
it a night to remember. You're a great group of guys.

Janet
