I realize it's taken me a little bit longer to reply than my Doob friends Janet and Roger. It was really great getting to meet some of the other Doobie fanatics such as myself. When Roger came on stage, the four of us in our group started yelling, Go, Roger, Go!! We were VERY loud, and the people sitting in front of us turned and said, "Well, they must be the fan club." I said, yes sir, we are! I can say this about Roger on stage - he was awesome. When he and Pat were face to face playing their guitars, it looked like they had done it together at least 1,000 times. My hat's off to you, Roger, YOU DA MAN! As for the concert, as I said before, this was the first time I've seen the band since the Cycles tour (89), and I can't tell you enough how worth the wait it really was. Pat, Tommy, Keith, Big Mike, and John - there are no words to describe how musically talented you guys really are. There was absolutely no moment of that show that you weren't stellar. We need to create a Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame just for you! I can't believe how much energy Skylark has; Marc Russo played the best sax I've heard in a long time, and of course Guy pulled it all together with the keyboards. The playlist was exceptional, a bit of old, a bit of new, and every bit awesome. But the final word comes to say thank you to Miles and Laurin for setting up the meet and greet for those of us in the fan club. You made a 25-year old dream come true for me, and I am truly grateful. The band was every bit as gracious and hospitable as you all have said, and spent a good 30 minutes talking to all of us and making us feel welcome. They were relaxed and amicable, and you could tell that meeting us was fun for them, too. They are all wonderfully warm and down to earth. Thanks again, everyone - it was the best birthday present I could ever hope to have.
