Well folks, I haven't been to any of the recent concerts, but every day I
have a Doobies concert in my mind.
And let me tell ya...it's always GREAT!
All I have to do is close my eyes. Yep, there's Pat, hair whipping in the
breeze and hitting notes on tippytoes in his tiger shoes. There's Big Mike
and Keith, thundering away at their kits like twin sons of different
mothers. Guy (not Malcom) in the middle, tickling the ivories and conjuring
the soul of Bill Payne. John, The Other Man in Black, playing every
instrument imaginable and then some. Skylark, looming large like a Macy's
balloon, playing his blinking thunderthud. And of course Tommy, singin',
playin', smilin'. Need I say more?
Of course, a concert-in-the-mind allows one to mess with the time-space
continuum and other realities. Oftentimes, Tiran shows up as a special
guest. Michael, too, if the mood is right. And the smoke machines go
fuming away like it was 1975 again.
My ultimate mind-concert has ME joining my Doobie pals on stage and playing
along with my trombone. We always do Music Man. Yeah! And I hit every
note, too.
Unbelievable, huh?

Hell we all need a fix. You can't tell me that no one on this list attended
any of the shows since last Friday. Man, if the boys made it through all the
snow and cold weather then some of you had to go to a show.

Well Hoprfully this Jon Bream will actually attend the how.....THEN we'll
some good news. =)
I've yet to read a shitty review of the Doobie Brothers. The only
negative if you can call it that) is that Michael McDonald isn't with them
anymore, even that negative is squelshed when the nay-sayers attend a show.
Get those reviews pouring in guys.... Me and Torrey need a fix. Right
