Here's the Doobie's portion of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune review on
Friday's show in St. Paul. Take your blood pressure pills before

Also appearing on the KQ Christmas Concert were the Doobie Brothers, who
played too much new generic material (imagine Crosby, Stills & Nash meets
smooth jazz) and failed to perform "What a Fool Believes," one of the
biggest hits. Patrick Simmons took the lead vocals formerly sung by Michael
McDonald, who is no longer with the band, and Tom Johnston's voice sounded
rough. Still, the Doobes created the good-time vibes of old on "Listen to
the Music," which turned into a spirited communal sing-along.--John Bream
