I just wanted to drop a note to the Doobie Brothers and all of the fans in
the DBFC to say a big "THANK YOU" for a truly wonderful year! If only EVERY
year could be like 2000, well, I know I'd be in heaven...let's take a
look...

An ultra succesful Fan Club Convention...145 fans from around the world
gathered for 3 days of Doobie Brothers Music and fellowship
Over $25,000 was raised for the NVF
Tommy, John, Big Mike, Keith, & Marc dropped by to meet the fans
Rick & Lori Seaman got on stage sang "Listen to the Music"
Linda Sullivan & Pat Atilano sold over $1,100 in raffle tickets
Chris Passanisi once again poured her heart and soul into the Toy Drive,
delivering hundreds of donated toys to the Lucile Packard Hospital at
Stanford University
For his 40th birthday, Roger Cunningham donated $2,500 to the National
Veterans Foundation and got on stage to sing "Listen to the Music" with the
Doobies at a concert in Atlanta.
In total for 2000, the DBFC raised over $33,000 for charities that the
Doobie Brothers hold dear (people, that's $33,000!!!)
It took the time and talent of MANY fans to pull this off this year and we
want to say special "Thank You"s to Miles Lumbard, Peter Dubin, Linda
Sullivan, Chris Snyder, Chris Passanisi, Rick Santangelo, Torrey Leininger,
Chris Doyle, Doobie Dann, Pat Atilano, Cliff & Becky Jones, Dave
Wasserstrom, Debbie Beck, Helen Hall, Ann Rice, Jerilyn Malliet, Leen Van't
Hoog, Rick & Lori Seaman, Papa Smurf, Mary & James Plemmons, Rick Baker,
Scott Elsberry, and to all of the fans who pitched in to make this such a
special year for the Fan Club. Thank you!
What does 2001 have in store for Doobie Brothers Fans? "Behind the
Music"!!! Another Fan Club Convention? Maybe. Doobie Brothers in
Concert!!! Another infusion of Doobie Brothers memorabilia for fans to bid
on and own...
Whatever 2001 holds for the DBFC, one thing is for sure, we want to
absolutely OBLITERATE the success we had in 2000. That will take the
efforts of absolutely EVERYBODY in the DBFC to make our goal a reality!
We are a very blessed Fan Club. There never have been and never will be
yearly dues in order to be a member of the Doobie Brothers Fan Club. That,
my friends, is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The Doobies are very generous in
giving their time to members of the DBFC and they support the activities of
the club...and it costs not one dime to be a part of it...
What the Fan Club does ask in return is your support for the actitivities
and events planned throughout the year. At any given time there are about
250 members who can be reached through the list serve. My friends, that is
a small but VERY POWERFUL army of fans. Imagine what could be accomplished
if ALL 250 members participated in the annual Toy Drive. Why, we could
drive Chris Passanisi both out of her house and out of her mind.
250 members donating only $20.00 could help keep the NVF open a month.
250 members donating 1 pint of blood 4x a year means an additional 125
gallons of blood in the national supply.
Participate in the club actitivites, participate locally or regionally, do
whatever, but just participate. And let us know when you spend the night
with the homeless, feed the hungy, make a donation to the NVF, etc...
Who wants to volunteer to keep track of all of the volunteer actitivities
Fan Club members engage in this year?
The Doobie Brothers Fan Club CAN & WILL make a difference in 2001! Who
wants to fire the first shot?
