Well put, Mr. Prez. A song for the new tour set list? "Cottonmouth"!!! It would require a big, bad, bitchin' horn section (and what's wrong with that?). Need a hand, Marc? Dave from Denver ----Original Message Follows---- From: Laurin Willis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Laurin (E-mail)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Slow times, the delete button, plain ol' common courtesy, & Influ ence pedaling Date: Fri, 19 Jan 2001 14:26:47 -0500 Gee, the things that can happen when ya leave town for a few days... I guess it had been a while since we've had an flame war and it was bound to happen...it's time to call a truce again and get back to normal. Everybody take a deep breath and relax... C'mon, there are going to be slow times on the list and this is one of those times. The Doobies aren't on the road right now...we've pretty much discussed every possible topic related to "Sbiling Rivalry"...there isn't a fan club convention on the horizon..."Favorite Song" contests of every combination have been run into the ground...it's the "dog days" right now. There just isn't a great deal of timely information to talk about. So what do we do? Sit here on our hands until some "Brand New" news breaks and we have something to talk about? No. Fans are welcome to post ideas and thoughts at any time because this little gathering is more than just a "news group". That is not about to change anytime soon. We will also react to the events that go on around us. In the past couple of weeks, members have openly flamed other members and have flamed the blood drive. C'mon people, this whole thing is suppose to be fun. The blood drive was meant to be a way for FC members to support a fellow member and bond at the same time, and someone took offense to it. We've said it before and we're going to say it again: all computers are factory equiped with a "delete" button. If you see a post you don't want to read then take a deep breath and "delete". That is so much easier and healthier than letting your blood boil because of another person's random thoughts. ATTENTION EVERYONE: Please note, If you are expecting to read ONLY Doobie Brothers news and info on the list serve you will be SORELY disappointed. Start limbering that "delete" finger now. If you don't quite find that "delete" button in time and find yourself aggrivated with another member, for goodness sake, please use common courtesy and send your note directly to the "offending party", not the list-serve. Conversely, when replying to a post on the list-serve, please consider whether you should "reply" or "reply all"...does everyone really need to see your personal response. That is common courtesy as well. Now, if everyone is looking for a Doobie Brothers related topic that is timely, well, we'll go back to the tried and true, "Influence Pedalling". The Doobies will be kicking off a brand new tour in just a couple of weeks...let's see if we can influece the songs they include in the set list. (We won't be keeping a running total, just general discussion). What song that generally DOES NOT appear in the Doobie Brothers set list would you most like to hear included in the upcoming tour? I'll kick things off here and go with the one I always want to hear, "Toulouse Street".
