I'd like to start off the revue by talking about the first part of the
show. This email message has NO Tommy Johnston content (NTJC) but it
does talk about the surprise Doobies. I did this so you can skip all of
the (NTJC) by going directly to my next message which will be all about
our hero, TOMMY JOHNSTON! :)

(That's SEVENTY in dog years!)
That is the greeting that was written on the screen as we took our seats
for a night of magic. Mr. Tony LaRussa welcomed us and then started the
night by inviting out the first member of the All Star Band, the Musical
Director Marc Russo!!! That does it! This is going to be a wonderful
night! :)
Others in the band included Jerry Cortez, Myron Dove, Steve George,
Billy Gibson, Jim Pugh and then, drumroll please... with his boyish good
looks, Mr. John McFee!!!
Dennis DeYoung was first up and I have to say, he stole the show. He did
several songs from his days with Styx including "Lady" and "Come Sail
Away". Marc Russo did some amazing sax solos that breathed new life into
these songs. Marc was definitely a crowd pleaser last night!
Dennis was in great form. He sang his heart out and gave his performance
his all. He puts all his soul into his work and it shows. He sings with
the same "spirit" as Tommy does and it makes a world of difference in
the music. I loved every moment of his performance.

They kept flashing this on the screen between sets so I thought I'd do
the same for you... Just trying to get you in the mood of the show! ;)
K.T. Oslin was next. She has a beautiful voice and according to the
program has sold millions with her collections of "80's Ladies", 'This
Woman", "Love in a Small Town" and "Songs from an Aging Sex Bomb". She
did a few very romantic songs. It was perfect and just what the "doctor"
ordered for my date, Betty and me! :)

Dennis DeYoung came back with selections from "The Hunchback of Notre
Dame". It was just beautiful. His performance was powerful. I have a new
respect for him and I'm not being biased even though I grew up in
Chicago where Styx was formed and he played at my High School too! ;)
