I know what you mean Jack . I'm big gear junkie too .
I love to do that at not only Doobie shows but just about
every concert I go to.
Although these days it's not as easy anymore with seat attendants
hounding you to stay in your area all the time .

There's a good venue near my home that used to be good for that .
I'd stand on the side of the stage and check out the gear and then
wait for the house lights to go down and watch the performers
come out in the dark and be guided with flashlights to the stage.
Very exciting !!
Those days seem to be gone now with all the added security
at most shows nowadays .
