--Yukky-poo! Look what came back from the Rock Hall Execs!! I sent a simple
suggestion that the Doobies deserve the RRHOF and this is what they sent back!!. Now,
after reading this, I'm in agreement with Miles. The RRHOF is undeserving of the
Doobies. A torrent of hyphenated expletives are waiting behind the mental flood gates
of my mind, ready verbally dispute Mr. Stewart. But I'll save my writing for better
things, like the list.

Thanks for your comments,
There is no doubt that Rock and Roll would not be what it is without the
contribution of
The Doobie Brothers. At the same time, you should realize that we receive
literally thousands of such recommendations.
The entire nomination and induction process is coordinated by the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in New York City. First, the selection of
inductees begins with an extensive panel of journalists, historians,
previous inductees etc. In turn, those nominated are sent to a committee of
approximately 1,000 individuals (again journalist, historians, all previous
inductees, music industry people, etc.) who vote. Those receiving the
highest number of votes and more than 50% of the votes are inducted into the
Hall. Usually, this means five to seven new members each year.
Having said this, people sometimes forget that Rock and Roll and its artists
are viewed in an incredibly subjective manner by any individual brought into
the circle of discussion. As such, there is often widespread disagreement
or fracturing of opinion about who is or was a rock artist and what
importance did he or she have. From my perspective, time will tell. I
really think that all such deserving candidates will have their moment
eventually.
Sincerely,
Terry Stewart
President/CEO

Subject: The Doobie Brothers
This band needs to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Plain and simple. It
is their turn next. Tom Johnston and his unique "chunka chunka" guitar
rhythm, and the 2 drummer concept, while not original, speaks for itself.
Known as the "Revolving Door" band, the Doobies have seen and survived many
changes in members which have contributed to their eclectic sound. Their
songs are timeless and are heard everywhere from movies to commercials to
elevators. They've won grammies. What more do you need? Please accept my
vote for them into the hall of fame. They deserve it more than you'll know.
Sincerely,
Gina "Cinderella" Dorman
