Hello! I've been lurking for about a week now, so.........
My name is Kendall Dixon and I live in Milford, Delaware with my wife Patric
(short for Patricia). I've been a real estate appraiser in Delaware and
Maryland for about eight years. Also, I'm a part time musician (drummer). My
wife is an office manager
and also works as a gourmet caterer, primarily during the summer months. We
both enjoy the beach, walking, attending concerts, and dining out (especially
Mexican, Cajun/Creole, and Indian cuisine). My hobbies include reading
(history and biography), collecting records and CD's, and playing the
mandolin (I'm a bluegrass nut).
I'm new to the Doobie Brothers fan club, but have been a fan for many years
(since my mom bought the 8-Track tape of "Takin it to the Streets" in 1976).
Later that same year, Wheels of Fortune, Natural Thing, Long Train Runnin',
and China Grove were all part of the set list in my very first band! I was 13
years old at the time. It's amazing that EVERY single band I've been with
since then has featured at least one Doobie Brothers song!
Other bands I like include: The Eagles, The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers,
The Band, Firefall, SHF Band, Manassas, CSN(Y), Little Feat, Steely Dan, The
Moody Blues, Yes, Genesis, Spock's Beard, The Beatles, Buffalo Springfield,
and Poco (I'm a member of the "Good Feelin' to Know" Poco list). I also enjoy
Doobies related bands such as Southern Pacific and Four Wheel Drive.
I've only been to one Doobie Brothers concert (September 1994 in Atlantic
City), but hope to catch them again this summer! I also plan on seeing
Michael McDonald next time he plays in my area. My friend, drummer John
DiGiulio is currently working with him, as well as with Little Anthony and
the Imperials.
I'm looking forward to meeting fellow fans and participating in some
interesting discussions!
