Okay, looks like it's my turn to tell y'all about me, but first...
...no Chris, I won't be going to Konocti.

Who's Dano:

I'm 37 and was born and raised in San Jose. I bought a condo about
four years ago that is about a mile and a half from the house I grew
up in. Yup, I've gone far in life, so I'm extreemly local. I am
currently going through a divorce (been separated for about a year)
but do have my 14 yr. old daughter, Jodelle, living with me. I work
in the telecommunications field and have a side job (actually, I like
to think of it as a 'paid hobby') as a pyro-technician.

First Doobie experience: Musta been 6th grade, during lunch I hear (and
then see) 4 classmates walking down the hall singing 'Black Water' in
2 part harmony. I remember thinking: 'Hey, that's that cool song I've
been hearing on the radio lately - I wonder who it is'. Needless to say,
next time I heard it, I paid attention to who it was. Doobie Brothers, huh,
that's a funny name - what's a doobie? I found out a few years later what
a doobie was - yup, this band has a cool name. Over the next half year or
so, I discovered that not only was 'Black Water' by the Doobs but they also
did some other songs that I liked - 'Long Train Runnin', 'China Groove',
'Listen to the Music'.

Well, time went on and I got into Heavy Metal. You know, bands like Black
Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc. After a while I got into more
metal but also into bands like Rush and the Dixie Dregs.

Much later, older and wiser/Most recent Doobie experience: For the last
year or so, my daughter and I have been watching 'Behind the Music'. It's
such a good show that I'll even watch it when it features bands that I
don't really care for. Y'all know what happened next. The Doobies' BTM.
I remember being glued to the TV as I not only learned a lot but hearing
all those Doobies tunes. Went out the next day and bought 'The Best of...'
Two days after that, I joined this list and I gotta say - Y'all some of
the best and nicest fans I've ever met (okay, exchanged e-mails with).
As I'm sittin' here typing this I'm thinking - 'Dano, you need more Doobs
on CD'. I'll be picking up 'Sibling' on the way home today. Eventually,
I'll own them all but in the meantime, anybody got any suggestions as to
which one I can pick up next? Ah, I can see my inbox filling up now!

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. If any of you are going to
any of the Saratoga shows, I'll see you there.

Dano
