Pat has missed at least 2 Doobie Brothers performances that I know about. The first was in late 1981/early 1982 when the Doobies played the "Night of 100 Stars" on TV. The band played an unusual live vocal/canned music performance of "Here to Love You". And, as Holly said, Pat did not perform at the concert at the BR Cohn winery in Sonoma this past October. Christopher Thompson (ex Manfred Mann, ex Knight) took over some of Pat's lead vocal duties. No "Black Water" though. You could really hear the holes where Pat's licks would be in the songs. That concert could have easily been labeled "Missing Man Formation". Shaun Murphy of Little Feat was absent due to an emergency root canal and Neil Schon (Journey) was absent from Sy Klopps.
