Ohmygod, I am so lucky!!! My husband and I were able to get tickets and attend Friday
night's show in Bossier, LA. I'm still in Faint Mode just thinking about it! I wish
you all could have been there to see what we saw. So here goes...
A surprise line-up of Doobie Alumni threw sparks on the already flaming stage. Jeff
Skunk Baxter "sat in" to play and when they did TITTS, Mr. Michael Mc Donald came out
and sang a soul-squeezing rendition that rocked the house...hhaaluyah!it was like
havin church honey! It was great to see the 2 of them up there playing nice together.
No "sibling rivalry"! Pat did Ordinary Man and the legendary Carley Simon joined him
for my favorite song, Sweet Feelin! All the ladies swooned. And then, and then (lemme
catch my breath)...John Hartman was there and he and Big Mike and Keith did this 20
minute drum solo you wouldn't have believed for "Road Angel" and if that wasn't good
enough, the 1st encore was the Reprise to Cheat the Hangman and John did his fire
gong!!! And THEN, TIRAN PORTER shows up after the lights go down for the second encore
and does Toulouse Street with Pat and then does "For Someone Special". My eyes are
still misty. I'm still tired as I write this and I bet!
the Doobies are tired too. They played 3 1/2 hours with a 15 minute intermission!!!
I guess they were able to because of all the extra help they had! I can't even count
up all the songs they played! The final encore was a spectacular medley of LTTM and
PGLA. It was just too cool for words. After the show, the most extrordinary thing
happened. We got to not only meet Tommy but he came back up to our hotel room and had
a late night snack with us. We all talked and sipped iced tea and ate chips and salsa
until 3 am!!!! I take back everything I said about 1974 being the best Doobie concert
of my life. Last night, I lived Doobie history....
IN MY HEAD!!!HA HA!!!
APRIL FOOLS!!! And April Fools about being in Bossier, LA. Tickets to that concert
sold out immediately before we could get any. Did anyone actually go??
