Greetings! LaptopsRus "MEETING | REUNIÓN" is open public meeting of women live performers set inside an electronically updated boxing ring installation. Meeting as performance, Reunion as tournament, women with laptops play with or against each other in collaborative and challenging ways. The laptop generation, each a mobile agent with own laptop, each claims her personal style while embracing interactive performance platform. Started with a Spring season performance in Vision'R Paris, By spring 2010, LaptopsRus has completed a cycle of 4 seasons planned for its 2009-2010 tour.
Concluding LaptopsRus 2009-2010 touring season, LaptopsRus lands at Madrid with an ALL OUT FOUR SEASON extravangaza two night marathon performance hosted by Madrid's contemporary art center Matadero. This year end performance at Matadero, by its scale and duration (2 nights, 3 hour per night), is a celebration, a solidarity networking gala event for the laptop woman generation. To provide more thoughtful studies and research/development, the Madrid performance is supported by a conference on "Generation Laptop Real Time" conference at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and an AVLAB workshop show and tell on "Live coding, Live performance, Live cinema, live Art" at medialab Prado. We expand the thematic visual approach to include four seasons, each season corresponds to the classic element. Each performer chooses a season/an element for its visual live-mix. Each element can be broadly interpreted as follows: Spring [Air]: ideas, intellectual, sanguine, upload, mobile ... Summer [Fire]: riots, war, revolution, choleric, passion, creation, destructions ... Autumn [Earth]: growth, eco, landscape, human, melancholic ... Winter [Water]: survival, moist, emotion, phlegmatic ... This "MEETING | REUNIÓN" invites participation from local and international woman live performers, known or unknown in the currnet AV festival circuits. Young, old, experienced, not-so-experienced, locals, out of towners all gather together to build and grow a dynamic woman AV performance network.
