un email en ingles ya que se trata de una lista de correos en ingles..
a la que les podra interesar suscribirse (o no)
saludos,

This email is an invitation to everyone here with whom after many
years i've had the chance to share mostly on informal talks, off and
online, all sort of ideas diverging around the _performative_ act of
setting&sharing live "streams". be them sound, images, all.

An exchange that has ranged from the pure technical to the political,
the promotional and even forgetting the art :). But lately it has
been mostly striving to asnwer the questions regarding how to commonly
share and feed any sort of network-shared "calendar" that could serve
as common place to inform each of us and let many more know about the
events that are happening no matter the timezone, in fact, profiting
from the big gaps we cover! Such "infinite conversation" has been at
times about software/hardware solutions, but most importantly it has
been our way to "connect" and conform the event of being community.

Since there's already a mailing-list for this where i'm sure many of
you are already susbcribed, and instead of proposing to start a new
one and re-invent the wheel, this is an invitation to reinforce it. It
has been around for more than a decade now:
http://lists.x-i.net/mailman/listinfo/xchange

So yes, the main issue right now is to consider it our meeting point
for all stream related info, through it we will be able to entertain
possible developments and ways to expand it as stated above.

Xchange was founded in the early stage of streaming media, in dec
1997, and that this manifesto (below) refers to the early times of the
Xchange list, some things are changed since then a lot, some less, but
most important is that Xchange founders and most active members of the
list have decided to reinvigorate it, also opening it up for new
subscribers and focusing on broader variety of topics related to
"audio culture" -- incl. radio and sound art, explorations in radio
waves and within electromagnetic space, streaming media and open
source, electronic music and sonic environments, 'acoustic space'
research - in theory and practice... All welcome to join Xchange 2012
- network for sound art, streaming media and audio culture
