More on Aliexpress. In the last few months I have noticed that many of the direct from China offerings on Aliexpress and Ebay are now showing up on Amazon. So if you are hesitant to buy from Aliexpress (and you should be) or Ebay than you can buy through Amazon with their amazing customer support and return policy. Coupled with Amazon Prime (which isn't always available for the Chinese companies) this is how I usually get initial single purchases of direct from China stuff. If I need additional quantity I then consider Alibaba or Ebay.
The Rigol scope I ordered through http://www.tequipment.net/ because they were based in the USA, had their physical address and phone numbers clearly on their site, and deal in lots of brands including FLIR, Fluke, and Tektronix. I also found a 5% off coupon which gave them the best price. Sova
