I use KiCad, and I make my back-side text mirrored. It comes out the right way on the actual boards. I think most CAD tools show everything as seen from the front, so when you look onscreen, you should expect to see back-side stuff mirrored. However, I think when Laen's automatic tools produce the images for "what we think your board will look like," they're showing the view from that side of the board. FWIW, the only time I actually have to fiddle with the "Mirrored" flag is when I put extra text on the rear silk. Packages and library footprints that have text on them, are automagically mirrored when KiCad puts them on the bottom of the board. -- Mersenne Law LLP · www.mersenne.com · +1-503-679-1671 - Small Business, Startup and Intellectual Property Law - 9600 S.W.
