my experience with Alibaba has not been successful. I haven't been ripped off, but the conversations went something like:
Me: "I would like to order 100 pieces of your part number XXXX description YYYY. Please quote price, shipping cost to USA, and lead time" Them "Yes, we has products! Pleased to order from you now." or "Sorry, we do not sell (item specifically listed by them). Please order (this other item that wouldn't work for my application)" Sending my request in Chinese (translated by my Chinese friend) did not improve the responses, which totally turned me off of trying Alibaba.
