Oh, I know! I'll implement an "inventory" mode which will be the default freshly-flashed firmware configuration. That'll put everything in the lowest-draw mode possible, and I'll use the first recharge cycle to advance to "regular" mode. I can store that info in the EEPROM and be all set!
