I just built the dev version of FEniCS on Scientific Linux 6 (a variant of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and so of CentOS 6) and I can report that this goes fine with the dorsal rhel6 platform file.
There is one problem, in that the rhel6.platform file does not include viper, so there is no plotting. I tried building with viper, but the resulting dolfin won't run. I have written the fenics-viper list about this.
