So -  I take it you were writing Network analysis tools for X.25 at
Plessey while I was working on the network management software for the
2500 Packet switch range?   Didn't we have an Atlantic Research box or a
Tektronix box that also did that?

I did the conformance testing software for the Ptarmigan project at Plessey Christchurch. It resided on the Tekelec Chameleon TE32 (where I grew familiar with 'vi'). Also did some assembler TSRs for PCs (in DOS), some analysis tools for Project Wavell using Symicron hardware.

Any equipment which connected to Ptarmigan had to be tested against my software.
