I need some advice on how to do this without cocking it up. When I built the new system from scratch, I let it put home in the same partition as root.
I found instructions for moving it to a new partition: http://embraceubuntu.com/2006/01/29/move-home-to-its-own-partition/ that seem to be straightforward. When I investigated, I discovered that my sda7 had all the home stuff from my previous build. So I didn't remember that I had done this already. Can I just use the steps from renaming my current home to old_home, editing fstab as per instructions, and everything will be OK, or is there more? Thanks for any advice.
