The Stamp came with a prototyping breadboard with Power (9v battery) and
serial connection, and header strips beside the pinouts of the IC.

I have now found a small supply of jumper leads in my computer junk
drawer. They are cables usually used for connecting sound from a CD
drive to the motherboard and they are just the right size for these
header pins. Three wires to a cable, two ends gives six jumpers that can
be cut up for connecting to Leds and switches and whatever.

Job Done. Cheers all.
