Lubuntu has attraction here. Same Ubuntu packages plus an old-style UI that's getting quite a bit of attention. Either that or it's jump ship for Arch but I'm wary of that increasing the amount of sys. admin. the machine needs. WRT HUD, AIUI I end up with a tailored UI, a bit like Firefox's Location bar where it learns that when I type `news' I mean the BBC News site. And because it's highly used, even `n' now suffices. In some ways, it's like having tailored dynamic hot-key sequences for menu items. Using someone else's account could be interesting. :-) Or sharing a TV as that seems to be Canonical's main interest. Perhaps what we teach it will be stored in Canonical's cloud for access on other machines.
