So that's two distinct problems? One is having Apache serve up any CGI
output from that directory and the other is specific to upsstats.cgi.

You're probably already reading through these pages anyway, but in case
you don't have some of them...

    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/howto/cgi.html
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_cgi.html
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_alias.html#scriptalias

ScriptLog in mod_cgi may be useful.

Perhaps show us the section of the conf file you've settled on for
/var/www/cgi-bin?

Cheers, Ralph.
Hi Ralph.
When I tried to reply to your message (no 3 in the list), I only got messages 1
and 2. The header of your message 3 was greyed out, so didn't show up in the
quoted text for the reply.
However:
I arranged for ScriptLog to be activated, but the cgi log is currently empty.
I've stripped out all comments from httpd.conf and put in DropBox:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/109118552/httpd

Regards
Graeme
