I have a problem that I have never experienced before when trying to install a
Distro from a Live DVD.

The Distro is Linux Mint 14, contained on a "Linux User and Developer" mag
disk 121.
The Live version loads and runs beautifully, and I am so impressed with its
performance, that I want to install it.
There are two ways, Double-clicking the 'Install' symbol on the Desktop, or
single clicking an entry on the Menu.
There is no consistent reason given for failure. They are :-
"Problem compatibility with kernel PAE"
" BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000f4"

The PC is an HP D51C/P2.4 with a Compaq mother board and BIOS - A Pentium R
2.4 Gigs is the CPU, with 1Gig of RAM and hard drives sda at 40 gig, and sdb
at 80 gig. Sdb is not yet programmed in GRUB.
Sda has Debian 5 installed - kernel 2.6.32-5-686, but I can not see how this
affects the installability of Mint.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Many thanks,
Alan
