That piece confirms much of what I had read on various news sites. Clearly
there has been a serious breakdown in relations between TNMOC and the BPT and
only the people involved can possibly know the wholes story.

However, regardless of blame, the story shows a terrible lack of competence on
the part of the BPT management. They are the ones with the Lottery money,
they have numerous highly paid staff and they are the ones who control the gate
money. To quote from the piece, I would be seriously annoyed if I paid a £15
entrance fee only to be told that I had to pay another £2 to Colossus and
Tunny or £5 to see the whole museum. I too would be bandying terms like 'bait
and switch' about. (When I visited some years ago, I don't believe the
entrance fee was more than £10, (for everything) but I might be wrong.)

More telling still is the total ineptness of the CEO of the BPT. As a
manager, I wouldn't let him near an ice cream van! (This guy appears to be on
around £70k.) First of all, 'sacking' a volunteer over difference of opinion
about policy is a terrible way to go about managing an organisation, but
sacking the volunteer on camera smacks of lunacy.

What did he expect would happen, regardless of the rights and wrongs of the
situation?
