Perhaps just to consume.  The mainstream media can be largely ignored;

Instead, you get to pick and choose individuals whose views you'd like
to hear, or you'd like to know what, in turn, they found interesting and
re-tweeted.  Or perhaps just light-entertaining;

One has the choice of not following someone that tweets their every
movement, cluttering the feed with much noise. Google+ has more fuller,
interesting conversations than Twitter by way of the comments, but again
it depends on picking those that you find interesting. That's often not
the celebrities.

Cheers, Ralph.
