Hi,
Anyone else upgraded Kubuntu to 14.10 yet?
I did the upgrade on Thursday and everything seemed to have gone fine.
Then yesterday, I booted up and found that all of the apps that I launched
appeared in every Activity that I have, instead of the one that I launched it
from, (apart that is, those that were running when I shut down). I tried
tweaking the Settings for my Activities and made things worse - after the next
reboot, I only had One Activity - called "New Activity" and all of my
launchers and Plasma objects had disappeared.
I then restored the following files from my backup that I took on Friday:
* activitymanager-pluginsrc
* activitymanagerrc
* plasma-desktop-appletsrc
* plasma-desktoprc
and that seemed to fix it.
Today I logged in again and was back to the 'One Activity' scenario. I copied
the same files across and now its back to the way it was Sunday morning; I have
my activities back, but new apps appear in all of them
Any ideas, before I do a clean installation and start all over again?
It used to be only Windows that needed a clean installation every year or so
;-(
Hi Terry, I'm on Kubuntu 14.04 and I did some updates last week that
seem to have affected my logins on Thunderbird, but everything else is
OK. I did NOT upgrade to 14.10.
