That will only turn up the FTDI chip, used by many products.  I was
thinking more the efergy product name.

...which, as you say, is already working on your machine.

I've not used it, but the "insert installation media in your CD/DVD
drive or USB port" menu item just shows directories on the media, you
say?  Is that because the it's being auto-mounted on insertion and
you're selecting the mount point where the directories are visible?  Can
you `sudo umount ...mount-point...' where that's deduced using `df' and
then give the wizard the device name that df showed instead?
