Well. I put up with numerous crashes of Plasma until this morning. Until
today, Plasma restarted itself each time, but today it didn't. I rebooted,
but all I got were the two default apps that start automatically (Kontact and
Amarok) and a black screen. Searches on line didn't help much, (apart from
confirming that I wasn't alone). The best advice seemed to be to completely
remove Kubuntu-Desktop and then re-install it. I tried that, (many happy
hours of fun), but no change.

I then decided to go back to Kubuntu 14.10. That was pretty much 100%
successful, except, KWallet refused to accept my password.... I can only
assume that someone thought it was a good idea to change the format of the
KWallet .kwl file (in ~/.kde/share/apps/kwallet) , but didn't put it into a new
location, so the old version was overwritten during the upgrade. Anyway, I
restored the complete directory and am now up and running again.

I have now turned off Upgrades in the Muon Updates Manager and will live with
Kubuntu 14.10 until something better comes along or I become reasonably
convinced that KDE 5 is no longer broken.

So be warned; if you are tempted to update to Kubuntu 15.04, DON'T DO IT!
