I have lost sound output on my PC. I am running SolydX 10 EE (Debian
Testing).
I have checked both alsamixer and pavucontrol and there nothing muted in
either. I have booted my PC into another distro to check there was no
hardware issues with the PC or the speakers and the sound played
perfectly so it seem as though the lack of sound is linked to a
configuration issue on SolydX.
The sound was playing OK on Tuesday night and the only thing to happen
on the PC between then and Wednesday when I noticed the sound had
stopped was an apt-update which downloaded and installed the following
packages:

The only related audio package that was updated (that I can see) was
gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly:amd64 (1.14.1-1, 1.14.1-1+b1) but I have no
idea if this has affected the sound. I checked the Debian bug page but
could not find anything relevant to audio stopping.
lspci gives the following output
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset
Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05)
cat /proc/asound/cards gives
0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xf7c00000 irq 27
Any ideas what I should check now?
