I use uSD card images in Beaglebone black SBCs and have recently needed to
duplicate a working card (make a backup essentially).

GParted showed one working partition on the card, exactly as I expected. I
used dd to make a .img file of that partition, then am using the USB Image
Writer tool that's built into my arch variant to write this to a new card.

And here's where it gets weird - dd copied the 3GiB partition just fine,
but the Image writer is now writing a 16GB image file to the new card.

Screenshots can be seen here: https://imgur.com/a/6pkoxvX

Can anyone explain this behaviour?
