*Need: Capacity Planner*
*Duration: 1 year*
*Rate: $45-50/hr {MAX}*

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, analytical and
problem solving skills.
*MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:** *
*· * Technology - Capacity Planning (65%)
· Establish best practices for capacity planning large computing
environments, including systems supporting Novus and Cobalt.
1 Proactively identify and resolve application and hardware capacity
issues of strategic importance to the organization, increasing overall
system stability.
2 Forecast and plan application and hardware resource consumption of
systems and environment supporting our online products.
3 Develop, maintain and enhance capacity or performance reports with
accurate, easy to read, useful information that satisfies customer needs.
4 Build and maintain complex statistical models/forecasts using SQL,
SAS, vendor applications and internal tools written by self and team
members.
5 Automate activities and gain efficiencies with capacity planning
methodology, project management and communication within the group.
6 Assist with other RMG focus areas when time permits.
· Planning and project management (15%)
· Translate needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and
action plans.
1 Design plans for data gathering and analysis; participate
significantly in building and interpreting analyses and developing action
plans.
2 Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented actions/programs.
3 Establish and maintain working relationships with developers,
project managers and architecture experts to understand strategic
architecture vision and how this will be implemented in the environment.
· Team Engagement and Communication (15%)
· Translate needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and
action plans.
1 Design plans for data gathering and analysis; participate
significantly in building and interpreting analyses and developing action
plans.
2 Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented actions/programs.
3 Establish and maintain working relationships with developers,
project managers and architecture experts to understand strategic
architecture vision and how this will be implemented in the environment.
· Business (5%)
· Understand product lines and supporting technologies.
1 Understand internal processes and how they affect the corporation.
2 Understand the strategic vision at the organizational and team
levels.
*QUALIFICATIONS** *
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a technical field)
- Aptitude for solving complex analytical and technical problems
independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to
communicate technical information to multiple audiences
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to set scope, complete assigned tasks, and deliver quality
results
- Ability to determine and assign tasks to others to achieve project
goals
- Ability to apply standard practices
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, networks, middleware and database
architectures
- Proven proficiency with SAS or Business Objects
- Demonstrated successful analytical skills, including data analysis
- Competency with Windows desktop and productivity tools
