*Title:* Senior Systems Engineer *Duration:* 2+ months *Location:* Greenwood Village, CO *Rate:* 45 /hr ********LOCAL ONLY******** *Senior Systems Engineer * *Description Project Summary and Position Overview: (A detailed description of the project and what the position entails must be included) *The Senior Systems Engineer in the Technical Operations Group is responsible for overall support, implementation and maintaining standards for UNIX and Linux Server platform technologies for the Healthcare Information Technology organization. Candidates must be proficient in UNIX, Linux, and Solaris Operating Systems and related components. In addition, experience with a diverse set of 3rd party tools/applications including, but not limited to backup, monitoring, antivirus, inventory management, deployment tools, and OS patching. Senior Systems Engineers must be able to manage project work, exhibiting strong time and project management skills. We are seeking an individual who can work independently with little to no supervision, can make a contribution to a diverse technical team and wants to grow with new technologies. *Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities * - Overall support of the UNIX/Linux/Solaris server environments including level 1-3 support and participation in 24x7 on call rotation - Server OS installations and upgrades including 3rd party install/configuration, backup/anti-virus - Work on virtual teams in a collaborative/consultative fashion *Additional Information: (e.g. Shift Resource, % work that is development vs. maintenance, etc.) Qualification: Education • BA, BS or AA or equivalent work experience • 3-5 years relevant system administration technical experience *• Preferable 4+ years of Operating System experience * Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience & associated numbers of years of experience. * - In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Solaris operating systems (RedHat) - Working knowledge of x86 Server hardware technologies especially IBM xSeries, HP Proliant and HP/IBM blades - Working knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies - Working knowledge of network technologies (LAN/WAN, load balancing, firewall) and UNIX system management tools - Strong analytical skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to think strategically and act tactically - Strong Application Support / troubleshooting skills with customized applications are required - An understanding of JAVA, JVM, MBeans, and experience with distributed processing in a multi-tier environment - Familiarity of Open Source tools and solutions - TSM experience - After hours on-call responsibility on a rotating basis. - Monitor, report, and resolve hardware/software errors with vendors and customers. - Maintain systems security and integrity concerning data and computing resources to comply with company standards - Installs, tests, tunes, maintains, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, monitoring tools, etc. - Participate in the design of new and existing systems utilizing Solaris and Linux in a web-based computing environment. - Experience setting up and configuring UNIX and Linux networking and diagnosing TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, SSH, and DNS related issues with performance, connectivity, etc. *Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience: *· Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs · Knowledge of project planning and management, including scope, time and resource management - Experience with Apache and JBOSS HTTP servers - Strong understanding of web application solutions and servers *Any Certifications Required: NA* Linda Monalisa Aim Computer Consulting N.
