Position Description: Centerpiece is a multi-year, global program to deploy common processes enabled by multiple SAP applications. The program consists of System Integration, System Support, and Hosting. This position is responsible to perform SAP Basis and DB2 administration duties focusing on the support of highly available and performance optimized SAP applications deployed at Medtronic. Position Responsibilities: Database Administrator �Perform duties commonly expected of a Database Administrator �Execute DB2 database performance improvements as directed by development team. �Support scheduled DB2 system administration duties to include but not limited to database backups, system outages, system refreshes, etc. �Analyze data access, integration, and storage requirements for DB2 databases �Create and implement DB2 backup/recovery and disaster recovery methods �Troubleshoot and tune database environment and define performance thresholds. �Provide DB2 technical support. �Leverage enterprise systems management tools for monitoring and job scheduling. General: �Comply with and enforce change management procedures. �Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as required �Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and complete project work during off hours �Promote and manage global support processes, tools and technologies. �Support the architected SAP technical environment. � Understanding of SOX Controls and accountability �6+ years of IT or related experience with B.A or B.S.; �6+ years experience on DB2 support functions �Working experience of more than 1 year on SAP Basis & Security management and performance tuning �Good speaking and understanding level of English language SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED �6+ years DB2 Administration and performance tuning in an AIX/DB2 environment �Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with others to support SAP applications �6+ years DB2 Administration and performance tuning in an AIX/DB2 environmen * Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
