Job Overview: Our client is looking for a Technical Leader with the knowledge, motivation, and energy to help build robust and flexible business applications in support of Media Management. Our group supports Creative Services, Media Production Operations, Media Relations, Mobile GO products, and the Legal Department. The applications we develop and support are critical to the creation, marketing, distribution, and re-selling of company products. We build and support many new cutting-edge broadcast technologies and are a fundamental part of the company’s innovation and success. Job Responsibilities: · Using a repeatable, agile delivery approach, develop, maintain, and support the suite of add-on software components connected to the Digital Library platform. · Support and maintenance of the core Digital Library and related software. The Digital Library is based on Open Text Media Manager 6.8. · Develop and maintain architecturally sound, modular, component-driven Java applications. · Lead design and coordinate overall development with off-shore resources in conjunction with an on-shore lead. · Create and maintain system, design documentation, test plans, etc. · Support evaluation and implementation of 3rd party software packages for use by the core client groups, including automation packages and outside vendor-based applications. · It’s a 24/7 operation, occasionally provide off-hour support on a rotating, as-needed basis. Job Qualifications: Technical · Four (4+) years of hands-on implementing solutions on asset management and workflow projects on Open Text / Artesia or related platform (e.g., Media Beacon). · 5+ years of hands-on Java 6/ J2EE with complex multilayer applications. · Working knowledge of Spring/Hibernate, jQuery/JSPs, UNIX; Flex / ActionScript. · Strong working knowledge of SQL (Oracle strongly preferred). · Current working experience with JBoss, Tomcat or an equivalent application/web server. · Pluses for experience with any of the following: Angular.js; GXT; Photoshop; ImageMagic; .NET/ASPs. · Excellent object oriented design and programming skills, including strong working knowledge and experience in using UML and design patterns. · Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, and tools such as Subversion / Maven / Ant / Bamboo, etc. · Experience delivering software using contemporary methodologies including RUP and Agile. Job Qualifications: Overall · Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience. · Solid foundation in troubleshooting application and data issues. · Self-starter with the ability to multitask and assess priority. · Strong communications and critical thinking skills. · Ability to fit into a team oriented environment with a positive influence. · Ability to handle changes in business requirements and priorities across multiple projects. · Ability to understand goals, strategies and needs of the business as they relate to the application development.
