** *SENIOR Hitachi Storage Engineer:* ***Please note : This project may be all on site depending on client OR they may also do 2-4 weeks onsite, then remainder of contract may be Remote *** This position will primarily focus on tasks associated with the *expansion/support of our Network Attached Storage (NAS) infrastructure, supporting/maintaining our Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure, and the associated fiber infrastructure needed to support these technologies.* The individual will need to possess or have the willingness to learn, an in-depth technical understanding of storage area networking protocols, software, and fabric management, fabric login, fabric zoning, and management software that will be used to modify, architect, design, document, evaluate, and troubleshooting the client storage infrastructure. * Typical work responsibilities include (but are not limited to); * - Working with project and/or architecture teams to document requirements. - Designing and configuring storage related environments - Defining and building test cases. - Participating in defining and building test environments. - Documenting test results. - Building and implementing a solution into production. - Developing required project or service documentation. - Strong Troubleshooting & problem solving skills - Working in a Team Environment * Other skills: * - Understanding of ITIL and Service Management principles - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop strategy documents, white papers, and to make presentations as required. - Ability to thrive in a highly technical, rapidly changing environment is required. - Ability to work with vendors and maintain confidentiality is required. - Understanding complex technical subjects and products. - Experience with a problem reporting and tracking (HP Service Manager) would be helpful. - Ability to work on multiple projects at one time. - Strong commitment to high quality work. - Willingness to work beyond the normal work day if needed.
