We are still looking for a Z/OS System Programmer with an emphasis on · IMS installation/configuration/debugging and MQ z/OS installation/configuration/debugging. Healthcare client in Minneapolis. 6 month contract. Can take h-1s, and also non-local, but must be willing to RELO. Please reply to [email protected] Job Summary: We are looking for a senior Z/OS System Programmer. The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team setting to document procedures and environments, and facilitate knowledge transfer. Key Accountabilities: · IMS installation/configuration/debugging · MQ z/OS installation/configuration/debugging · SMPE skills for installing and maintaining software. · Experience installing IBM and non-IBM software. · Experience installing and using CA Chorus Software Manager (CA CSM) formerly known as CA Mainframe Software Manager. · VTAM and TCP/IP support and configuration. · Experience supporting a Parallel sysplex environment. · TPX or other session manager support experience. · Problem determination and analysis. · HCD and zSeries hardware support experience. · IBM Serverpac experience for system replacement. · Understanding of virtual tape implementation/exploitation. · Disaster Recovery planning, documentation, support and execution. · Experience with monitoring tools (Omegamon, SYSVIEW or similar). · DB2 system programming experience useful but not required. · Knowledge of Assembler useful but not required. · REXX coding useful but not required. · Experience using Microsoft Office (WORD/EXCEL/VISIO, ...) Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field and at least 4 years of IT Technical Engineer experience, or at least 8 years of IT Technical Engineer experience in lieu of a degree. · Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). · Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task. · Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the IT group’s knowledge. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in supporting and exploiting current releases of z/OS (1.12 and 1.13). · Understanding of EMC DASD. Thanks!
