*Duration*: 1 year+ *May be willing to do a skype but prefer a f2f* *Pasadena , CA * *Job Description:* Responsible for the development of Investment Management business line applications. The new hire will be a member of the IT-Trading team within the Application Delivery group. As part of this group, the individual will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing and supporting various trading-related systems and applications. Regularly meets with the supervisor and team members as necessary to review progress and issues. He/she will apply the use and knowledge of JAVA J2EE, T-SQL, and other necessary technologies in the analysis, design, development, and support of solutions supporting the business as directed by his/her supervisor. *Responsibilities/Duties:* Under minimal supervision, activities include conducting analysis and design, work estimation, coding, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, deployment, production support, bug fixes, and generation of relevant documentation. Make all required efforts to meet deadlines. Proactively notify supervisor of any risks related to projects or tasks including unforeseen complexities, delays relative to project plans, or other issues. Continually communicate project status, goals, and anticipated timelines to supervisor and team members as appropriate. Make pro-active suggestions to supervisor for improvement of existing and future systems and designs. Work both independently and part of larger team in support of firm and project goals. Proactively communicate with all relevant peers and parties in all stages of SDLC. Learn and adhere to firm’s SDLC process including production of all required documentation, adherence to release management and source code control procedures, and all other aspects of the SDLC. Conduct all activities in highly efficient, productive, accountable, and professional manner. Deliver solutions that are high quality in function, accuracy, and design. Troubleshoots any system failures, discrepancies, and performance issues. Recovery solutions are evaluated, selected and implemented. Communicate and work with internal and external development/QA teams during complete development cycle. *Specific Technical Knowledge and Experience Required:* Superior knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, JDBC, JMS, JBoss, XML, Web Services, JUnit. Must be very strong with OO design. Experience in developing stored procedures and database triggers in T-SQL language under Sybase or SQL Server environment. Experience in analyzing performance of queries/procedures and optimizing queries/procedures Experience with UNIX/Windows scripting languages e.g. Bourne/Korn shell, JScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc. Knowledge of Client-server concepts, (3 tier architecture concepts preferred), and GUI development concepts required, Java Swing experience preferred *Specific Business Knowledge and Experience Required:* Experience in either the Investment Management or Broker-Dealer domain desired.
