*Position: AIX Administrator* *Location: Cleveland, OH* *Duration: 8 Months* *Roles and Responsibilities: * Engineering work has been limited to AIX work. The cleanup of frames to remove those frames and attached HMC’s. This includes required clearview requests to shut off monitoring, firewall cleanup, cabling removal, switch removal, physical machine removal, and eventually removal from company contracts with IBM. GFB requires knowledge of Redhat linux including building and product installations. Build and validate machine and filesystems Database cluster configuration when required Install connect direct, CA, Avamar Decom work: Decom work consists of performing all tasks related to AIX machine removal. This includes verifying machine to be decommissioned, getting all approvals to do so. Verifying backups, just in case the machine is required in the future. Shutting down machine, and putting machine in cool down period. Updating all databases regarding machine status. Requirements Change management Clearview for creating cross team requests for Database cleanup, by identifying SID and requesting database removal SIW (machine database) updating Blackout request Verify last backup Get listing of WWN’s for SAN attached disk removal Optional product removal, such as Connect Direct, CA7, Veritas DNS and firewall removal AIX / VIO knowledge to login and perform tasks: Unmounting filesystems Removing application volume groups Removing application disks Nim cleanup, removing old mksysb’s and host name HMC knowledge to login and change startup to Shutdown server Alter startup to SMS mode, so it won’t accidentally reboot Update machine profile removing adapters Update VIO profile removing client and all adapters Eventually removing machine profile Top three skills are: 1.
