POSITION SUMMARY The successful candidate will join a highly-motivated team of software designers and systems engineers responsible for the design and implementation of a Software Defined Networking (SDN) solution. This solution applies the SDN paradigm to the networks by offering differentiated services including real-time multi-layer network optimization and programmability through northbound APIs. You will part of the newly formed Agility group, a new business unit chartered to aggressively grow a networking-related software business focused on the disruptions and opportunities presented by the cloud paradigm. Apex is looking for a Senior/Lead Software Engineer to come aboard and help define and build our SDN Controller solution. The successful applicant will play a leadership role in the evolution of SDN products. This product line is positioned to perform a key function in rapidly growing Optical and Ethernet data transmission networks. RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and development of SDN (Software Defined Networking) Controller features • Work to Extend OpenDaylight to support Scalability for large scale networks • Working as technical lead in key development projects • Working with a globally dispersed development team REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Familiarity with the existing SDN Controller architectures (e.g.OpenDaylight, ONOS, etc) and SDN Applications. • Familiarity with SDN concepts and networks. • Java 7/8 • OSGi/Karaf • Maven • Git/Gerrit/Jira • Hands-on experience with scalability in the context of complex distributed systems • Lead Engineer - a proven track record in developing and deploying systems that scale up / down within a single data center as well as across data centers (geographically) • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, Excellent written and oral skills, Ability to work independently on complex tasks, Self-driven with ability to work under strict timelines, Track record of innovation EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE •?College Graduate BSCS degree required •?2-7 years relevant experience (Senior) •?8+ years relevant experience (Lead) Thanks & Regards; SAHITYA Astir IT Solutions, Inc.
