Data Analyst (Banking)
Location: Columbus OH
Duration: Long term
Client: Banking & Insurance
No of Positions: 2
The Data Analyst resource should be able to work through the following
process
Work with the Source DB teams in order to get the access to Source DB or
acquiring the Source DB snapshot
Define and create the tables in the intermediate Staging area and load the
data into the tables
Analyze the Source data and fill the deliverable documents defined for each
source system
Prepare the transformation, abandonment and migration rules document
Provide inputs to the future estimation planning
The Data Analyst resource should be able to work with the following tools
Know the ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) data process
Good in using the tools like Informatica, Sql Loader, Sql Server or
equivalent tools to be used from analysis to loading of data.
Summary: Need to have strong Informatica, Unix/Linux and RDBMS work
experience like Oracle, SQL server etc..
To be considered for this position, the candidate must minimally meet the
knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Prior Insurance project knowledge is good to have to understand the data.
- Technically strong in ETL concepts, design and development using
Informatica 9x and relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server and MS
Access.
- Strong experience with Informatica Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow
Monitor & Repository Manager
- Extensive experience in Mapping & Workflow designs
- Strong Hands-on experience with Informatica 9x and above
- Experience with MS Access database
- Hands-on UNIX shell scripting experience.
- Strong analytical skills required as it involves various data sources
like, Mainframe, MS Access, SQL server and Oracle.
- Required strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience with TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Loader and other Oracle Tools
The Data Analyst resource should be able to deliver/assist in producing the
following project deliverables:
1. Project Plan for the project (Data Analyst just adds his/her input for
planning)
2. Data Quality Analysis document (Analyze and fill the defined template
document for each source system)
3. Data Quantity Analysis document (Analyze and fill the defined template
document for each source system)
4. Data Mapping document (Analyze and fill the defined template document
for each source to target system by working with product experts)
5. RACI Matrix document (Fill the defined template document for each source
system)
6. Data Transformation rules document (Needs to be identified for each
source DB)
7. Data Abandonment rules document (Needs to be identified for each source
DB)
8. Data Migration Steps to be followed document(Needs to be prepared for
migrating the data from each source DB to Target DB)
9. Possible effort estimation document(Data Analyst just adds his/her input
for estimation preparation to migrate the data from each source DB to
Target DB)
