Build/Config Manager Peachtree City GA 1 +year hourly rate : $50/hr on c2c C++, C, Perl, ANT, Agile, Java We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer. This position is responsible for participating in a build support team under the direction of a software manger. Leads configuration management for software components and packaging. Performs a software build engineer role in an experienced team lead capacity. Job Responsibilities: Develops and maintains software build automation methods and tools to support software development and deployment of artifacts within the engineering/test community, and delivery to the factory through the PLM system. Works with the project team and software team to plan and manage delivery schedules. Responsibility includes multiple projects. Acts as the single point of contact for all issues related to product configuration, build and release. Maintains an awareness of ALM and associated tool advances. Attends and leads build engineering technical meetings. Conducts requirements, design code and test plan reviews for own work and team's work. Follows, recommends, and implements software processes. Writes and / or supervises the development of configuration management plans (CMP) Provides technical directions to others as necessary. Embraces quality improvement in response to A-Spice assessments or other quality issues. Prepares information as needed in the configuration management documentation process. Plans, develops, and participates in experimentation and tests related to software configuration management. May develop and test tools / procedures for possible application to other projects and/or systems. Provides assistance and technical guidance to less experienced engineers.Qualifications: Required Experience: Four-year college degree in Software, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related degree required. Master's degree in related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years software electronic experience in software configuration management. Minimum three (3) years of experience defining branching and merging strategies for code development and release. Programming experience C, C++, PERL required, Java desired. Proficiency in build utilities ( MAKE and ANT). Extensive experience in deployment packaging using automated configuration and packaging tools. Experience with software development and management tools (configuration management, debugging, compliers, test etc.) Experience working with on-site and remote software suppliers. Experience working with product development that has launched or in production currently. Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and various methodologies, specifically AGILE/SCRUM. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with complex build methodologies and structures. Must be able to create configuration management plans.
