6 month contract Pittsburgh, PA Local candidates preferred Phone interview/hire Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Unix, storage, SAN and virtual environments. Develops, documents and implements system standards based on best practices. Maintains and monitors the systems to achieve a optimum level of performance. Implement, configure and maintain technologies related to storage networking and storage provisioning. *Primary Responsibilities* 1. Designs, configures, monitors and maintains Unix, ESX, SAN systems to provide optimum performance and system availability. 2. Recommend, design, Install, and configure IBM AIX systems implementing LPAR’s, VIO servers, and HMC. 3. Design, Install and configure HPUX systems using Ignite servers 4. Design, Install and configure RHEL using kickstart 5. Design, Install and configure Sun Solaris 6. Design, Install and configure ESX servers and virtual environments 7. Design, Install and configure advanced Storage and SAN solutions. 8. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system performance, network and storage. 9. Gather performance and data usage statistics for capacity planning and reporting. 10. Generate and maintain documentation of the UNIX, SAN and Storage environment 11. Patch and maintain UNIX, Storage and SAN systems at supported levels. 12. Design, Implement and maintain system security across Unix platforms. 13. Create and implement shell / Perl scripts for monitoring and alerting purposes. 14. Design, configure, and maintain printing solutions. 15. Design and maintain operating system backup solutions for system recovery and disaster recovery 16. Mentor and train junior/mid administrators *Education and Experience* 1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, i.e., military, trade school, certificate, etc. and 8-10 years of relevant experience. 2. 5-7 years of experience as a Unix Administrator 3. 2-3 years of experience with IBM AIX Virtualization & LPAR’s 4. 2-3 years of experience with EMC San hardware 5. 2-3 years of experience with VMware. 6. Knowledge of EMC Networker a plus. 7. Knowledge of UNIX shell programming a plus. 8. Knowledge of SUN Solaris environment a plus. 9. Knowledge of HP-UX environment a plus. 10. Previous experience scheduling/prioritizing work & projects. 11. Strong communication skills, both written & verbal. 12. Excellent customer relations skills. 13. Excellent solution solving skills and the ability to work independently 14. Willingness to carry cell phone & laptop for possible nights & weekend support. 15.
