REQUIREMENT Position Description / Description of Duties: *Summary:* • This position is required to support, maintain and implement hosted Windows and Linux solutions in a highly virtualized environment. • This position will provide adequate computer resources and up-to-date software environment to meet application requirements. • Individual must stay current with new operating system software releases and support product software upgrades to provide new functional and efficiency options to different applications. • Troubleshooting system issues and addressing performance issues to assist with application performance, monitoring and availability. *Responsibilities:* • Responsible to support state agency IT projects and initiatives. • Serves as primary support for initial triage and resolution of agency technical issues related to infrastructure. • Identifies root cause and resolves support issues by making use of any management, troubleshooting, and documentation system available. • Evaluates and recommends information system changes based on performance and best practices to support application requirements, performance needs, redundancy, and system availability within published SLA (99.9 uptime). • Provides training, documentation and knowledge transfer to team and agency staff to better support systems. • Responsible for the ongoing support of the Windows and Linux server hosting infrastructure. • Working knowledge of server virtualization. • Management of server support tools such as Systems Center Operations Manager, Dell Open Manage, HP Systems Insight Manager, MDT/WDS and other tools as needed. • Escalates issues to Senior Sys Admins • Participates in an on-call rotation several times a year in 1-week increments. • Weekend and evening work may be required to implement system changes or for break fix issues when on call. • Provides weekly status updates to the Team lead via the team SharePoint site. • Other duties as assigned. • Secondary technical contact and project manager for various agencies and vendors to support State agency IT projects and initiatives. • To provide infrastructure guidance and expertise to state agencies and their IT projects. • Manage and support shared and agency dedicated IT resources within advertised SLA of 99.9 uptime. • Triage support issues within advertised SLA’s. • Provide mentoring and guidance to other IOT departments related to the shared hosting infrastructure. • Design solutions for IOT and State agencies based on business requirements, budget, redundancy, recoverability and manageability. Skills Required: • 4 years of progressive experience in an enterprise or hosted computing environment. • Intermediate knowledge of Windows server technologies, information system concepts and advanced troubleshooting methodologies as related to server infrastructure (Roles and Features, IIS, .NET.
