The Sr. DB2 UDB Admin interacts with functional representatives, business
and database analysts, data architects, and Systems Programming and
administration and Application Development project teams to enable data
operations requirements to support the effective storage and retrieval of
data. She/he functionally leads other database analysts and drives
consistency and drafts and maintains standards and procedures for database
environments to ensure enterprise compliance. She/he implements and
maintains the enterprise’s production and development databases. This
position monitors and analyzes performance metrics, back-up, and recovery
procedures and allocates database resources to achieve optimum database
performance.
Details of Position:
The DB2 UDB DBA will be working in a DB2 LUW database environment. Previous
experience as an administrator of DB2 LUW databases is required. This
position will have two to three database analysts reporting to it and will
require management of work for those resources. Previous experience
participating in production support calls is preferred. The candidate
should also have working knowledge of servers and clustering.
