Network Support and installation service will be responsible for the
technical design, installation and support involving various Cisco hardware
and software technologies within the Networking Support Group, Division of
Information Technology.   Service provider will be the Subject Matter
Expert on all design and installation and support of GDOT Business
Continuity and Disaster Recovery sites.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Defining, documenting,
configuring and maintaining GDOT’s Cisco environment; Working with other
GDOT Networking Engineers in designing, testing and implementing
high-availability, production-ready, network solutions for both internal
and external customers; Working with other client Networking and
Telecommunications Engineering personnel in establishing operational
processes and procedures for networking, including remote access ,wireless,
VoIP, Cisco Firewalls and Nexus Core switching. Assist client/customer
Engineers, on other projects as deemed necessary; Ensuring that networking
SLA’s are consistently met; Working with contractors, vendors,
client/customer Engineers and other client Engineers on large-scale network
infrastructure projects; Recommending enhancements to existing networking
systems and infrastructure.



*Major responsibilities include*

1.       Design, deploy and maintain redundant core network framework for
GDOT’s BC/DR networks using  Cisco ASA, Nexus switches, Cisco VoIP
technologies that would provide instant service failover

2.       Creation and upkeep of documentation

3.       Modify existing equipment configurations

4.       Troubleshoot switched VLANed environments with multiple routing
protocols

5.       Verify connectivity

6.       Troubleshoot routers and routing protocols

7.       Review project tasks and turn around dates

8.       Documentation skills

9.       Performs detailed analysis of system requirements to determine
needs

10.   Provides daily updates and weekly status reports

11.   Other responsibilities include:

12.   Recommends short-term alternatives when appropriate

13.   Provides Tier 2/3 support



Successful providers should have a solid understanding of hardware and
software network configuration and experience interacting with people at a
variety of levels. The position requires demonstrated ability to
communicate technical concepts. We are looking for someone who has a good
mix of technology interaction skills and “hands-on” technical ability.



*Required Skills:*

*1.       **Extensive knowledge with Cisco routers and switches,
specifically Cisco  Nexus line,6500, 3750, 3560 switches; Cisco 3800, 2900,
1900 and 1800 routers and AS5500 security appliances in an enterprise
environment*

*2.       **Must have CCNP certification, CCIE written would have favorable
consideration*

*3.       **Experience with large fiber optic MAN installations*
