Please mail resumes to *[email protected] <[email protected]>* only *Role: DB2 LUW (UDB) Database Administrator* *Location: Atlanta GA* *Duration: Long Term* *Rate: DOE* *Interview process: In person Interview only.* *Job Description:* · Create and maintain standard installation and setup procedures for database servers including monitoring and alerting. · Maintain and facilitate standard backup procedures, retention plans, and restore testing. · Assist with data migration between systems including regular data refreshes and making production data anonymous for use in testing environments · Work pro-actively to gauge the performance of the application & database and provide recommendations to achieve the optimal architecture · Develop, maintain and monitor database performance reports, including utilization, sequence number ranges and partitions · Assess impact on performance with different changes and review scalability of the infrastructure. · Maintain standard procedural documentation related to all aspects of operating the database platforms. · Participate in incident resolution as an escalation point for database incidents. · Document known errors or workarounds in the shared Knowledge Base. · Consult with vendors & other teams to recommend best practices and tune software during the development cycle. · Recommend and maintain standards for monitoring and event management to be used in production databases. · Assist the development teams in tuning SQLs in stored procedures. · Perform testing and production builds involving data changes and stored procedure building while following established change management procedures · Assume all DBA duties in testing and development environments, maintaining design and data consistency throughout · Troubleshooting production issues, participate in application development deployments, assists in development lifecycle, space allocation and management, optimization, backup, recovery, DB instance performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, standards identification and compliance, ensuring a high-level of reliability and availability for database management systems. · Provide 24x7 on-call escalation path for database related problems. *Skills Required:* · Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. · Total 5+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience out of which minimum 4+ should be on DB2 9.x or higher versions. · History of managing multiple RDBMS in large environments in AIX environments. · Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database. · Experience in working in a 24X7 environments and on-call support. · Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience. *Required Experience: * · 3+ years of experience in database and database internals, with strong focus on DB2 LUW databases. · 3+ years of experience in UNIX (AIX and Linux) operating systems. · 3+ years of experience of scripting in Perl, UNIX shell, Windows, or PowerShell. Strong SQL skill. · 3+ years of experience in Performance Tuning. · Preferred 1+ years of experience in Pega PRPC database management. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or years equivalent work experience, as well as applicable DBMS certifications.
